Margaret Caldwell and Margaret Jones, commonly referred to as the Margarets, recently had their 10 year JLLiversary. Together, this dynamic Atlanta-based duo on our Capital Markets, Retail team has closed dozens of deals, impressed hundreds of clients and been an all-around fantastic pair since they joined the firm. What’s day to day life like being on your team? Crazy! Each day is different and exciting. We juggle lots of deals in different stages of the sales process. We roll into the work day knowing that the day will not go as planned. Our typical day consists of talking to buyers, sellers, potential sellers, mortgage brokers and lenders. Our clients span the spectrum of institutional owners to first time investors which means there are a ton of big personalities.
Retail isn’t always the easiest asset to sell, how have you guys been so successful? Is the question how have we been successful or how have we kept our sanity? Either way, the answer is the same. We enjoy our clients, the investors and understand shopping through first hand experiences. Success in this business is all about relationships and problem solving – we thrive on closing deals.
What’s next for you two? Personally and professionally what are you looking forward to in the next 10 years? We are working to list some larger trophy deals and portfolios while maintaining a constant pipeline of one-off shopping centers. We plan to evolve alongside retail and capital markets in order to stay relevant and properly advise our clients while continuing to have fun throughout the process. When the Margaret’s can escape work, they enjoy traveling with family and friends.
