RECON 2012: Jones Lang LaSalle Goes Hyper-Local

As the retail world converged on Las Vegas for the 53rd Spring convention, I’m excited to report that in just a few short months JLL has launched its local market initiative in key regions – Florida, the Midwest and California – and has added the market leading Berkman/Slosberg brokerage team in New York City. JLL has always had the strongest national, third-party retail platform but we knew that retail was moving towards a more hyper-local environment. Our clients value JLL’s brand, institutional platform and national consistency but they were thirsting for more local market flavor – conditions, dynamics and the general mood of the consumer. Now, through our local market initiative with John Lambert leading Florida, Mark Hunter leading the Midwest and Craig Killman tackling the West Coast, we have a winning combination that benefits all of our clients – and potential clients.

Our goal is to launch 10 – 12 key markets by 2015 and significantly grow our portfolio. Lofty? We don’t think so as the value we deliver to our clients is second to none. The combination of our ‘boots on the ground’, our broad suite of services – think retail capital markets and project and development services and retail tenant solutions – and our national platform allows us to further drive results and NOI for all types of retail clients. Our pursuit of quality people in each of these markets continues. Stay tuned Atlanta, Boston, Dallas and DC, here we come…
