Nashville TeamNashville is firing on all cylinders—one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, with a metropolitan area population expected to reach two million by 2020. This growth is a boon for the retail market, with brands entering the city and expanding to address increasing consumer demand. To better serve retailers, JLL today announced the firm is expanding its retail brokerage team to the Music City with the addition of Drew Chorney as Senior Vice President, Justin Armes as Brokerage Associate and Erin Moran as Brokerage Coordinator. The trio will work with Southeast Retail Market Lead John Bemis to provide strategic and value-add services to retail owners, investors and tenants throughout Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi.

“National and boutique retailers are focused on Nashville as an emerging, high-growth target market which is keeping net absorption in check and the market buoyant. With strong fundamentals expected for the next 18 months, the addition of Drew, Justin and Erin will allow us to provide best-in-class strategic consulting to retailers,” said Bemis.

“Growing our retail brokerage platform in key U.S. markets is a top priority for the firm this year. Expanding into Nashville will fortify our retail practice in the Southeast and complement our existing office and industrial services in the market,” added Naveen Jaggi, President of Retail Brokerage, JLL.

Chorney will primarily perform tenant representation and development preleasing and consulting, in addition to agency leasing. During his career, which includes positions at RightSite Partners, The Shopping Center Group and a global real estate brokerage firm, he has performed more than 500 real estate transactions representing both retail occupiers and property owners. He earned his MBA, an accompanying graduate certificate in entrepreneurship and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Eastern Michigan University. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Prior to joining JLL, Armes gained experience in high-volume customer service and sales environments. He also conducted multiple market research studies for non-profit organizations around Putnam County, Tennessee and developed a marketing plan for Tennessee Tech University’s College of Business, his alma mater and where he earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Moran brings a wealth of marketing and business development experience to JLL, having served as Director of Marketing and Communications at RightSite Partners, where she worked with Chorney. She was also part of the team at Legacy Project Resources that handled the owner’s represented role for the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, a $140 million dollar project that permanently added to Nashville’s iconic landscape. She also held marketing, sales, management and consulting roles in the gourmet food, healthcare, fitness, agriculture, music and publishing industries. She earned her bachelor of science degree in organization leadership from Middle Tennessee University, and she is currently pursuing her masters degree in integrated marketing and communications at Northwestern University.
