JLL Adds Unsuspecting Shoppers to the “Nice List” this Holiday Season

This holiday season if you are doing your gift shopping at a JLL-managed center you might just get a little something extra for yourself. JLL-managed centers across the country will be giving away gift cards to spontaneously delight and surprise shoppers this November and December. Santa, or one of many JLL “elves”, will be handing out the cards – but there’s a catch – shoppers will be encouraged to redeem the gift cards immediately. Why you ask? Because, #LetsGoShopping this season.

“This initiative is a continuation of our ongoing #LetsGoShopping campaign that launched in May to deliver excitement to JLL-managed center customers and drive national awareness that more than 90 percent of retail sales actually occur in physical stores,” said Paige Steers, Managing Director of Retail Marketing, JLL. “The Let’s Gather, Let’s Give, #LetsGoShopping holiday promotion is picking up the tab on a little instant gratification shopping to reward our loyal shoppers.”

Shopping centers play a vital role in their communities and the overall economy during this pivotal season. According to JLL’s 2016 Holiday Forecast Survey just over 45 percent of retailers say that they will generate between 10-30 percent of their total sales during the holidays. That is why JLL Retail CEO Greg Maloney considers it “a critical time of year for a huge portion of retailers, especially those is malls and other experience-driven shopping centers. We think this season will actually be slightly better in terms of growth compared to a year ago.”

JLL’s consumer campaign is slated to run at 30 JLL-managed properties this holiday. The instant winners will be selected in person, via social media or ShopPings – JLL’s unique in-center customer communication program. To receive ShopPings, customers can sign up in any of the centers by connecting to the WiFi and entering their mobile number. ShopPings notifies shoppers of special retailer and center related promotions year round. You can also follow your local center on Facebook and/or Instagram for more details and chances to win. The campaign starts on November 14 and will run until the end of December.

To date, the #LetsGoShopping initiative has been the most successful digital campaign for the participating JLL-managed centers this year. Both the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day promotions each outperformed all of JLL’s 2015 campaigns combined in terms of engagement.

The JLL-managed centers participating in the promotion include: Alexandria Mall, Central Mall Fort Smith, Central Mall Lawton, Central Mall Port Arthur, Central Mall Texarkana, Chesapeake Square, Chico Mall, Killeen Mall, Mall de las Aguilas, Mall of Abilene, Manhattan Village, Mesilla Valley Mall, Myrtle Beach Mall, Provo Towne Centre, Quintard Mall, Rogue Valley Mall, Rosedale Center, Salem Center, Shops at Wailea, South Park Mall, Sunset Mall, The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale, The  Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, The Shops at Highland Village, The Streets of Tanasbourne, Towne Square Mall, TownMall of Westminster, Westgate Mall and Windward Mall.

JLL partnered with The Dealey Group on the #LetsGoShopping campaign strategy and social media execution, and DHD Films on the video production.
